About Nikki

An actress, singer, and comedian, and occasional song parody writer, Nikki has been treading the boards since the summer after her eighteenth birthday. A lot has changed in the world since her first professional acting job in 1986 (first paycheck $3.50 per hour!), but the greasepaint still courses in her veins! She holds a BFA in Music Theatre from Illinois Wesleyan, and an MFA in Child Drama from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Since then, Nikki has performed at venues across the country, including Prather Entertainment Group, Circa 21 Dinner Theatre, Crown Uptown Dinner Theatre, Show Palace Dinner Theatre, Old Creamery Theatre Company, American Stage, Mosaic Theatre, Great Plains, Jenny Wiley, Texas Shakespeare Festival, Mosaic, Plymouth Playhouse, Hope Summer Repertory, Legacy, Tent, as well as National Tours with Birmingham Children’s Theatre, Nebraska Theatre Caravan, and Troupe America Inc.

There have been many favorite characters added to her resume over the years including Bloody Mary in South Pacific, Veta Louise in Harvey, Mrs. Banks in Barefoot in the Park, Alma Hix and Eulalie Shinn in Music Man, Winnfred in Once Upon a Mattress, Audrey in As You Like It, Cookie Cusack in Rumors, Mother Superior in Nunsense, Widow Corney in Oliver!, Berthe in Sound of Music, The Waitress in Working, and Martha Watson in White Christmas.

Since 2007, Nikki has greatly enjoyed playing Mavis Gilmerson in the wildly successful Church Basement Ladies franchise and to this day has donned her wig, glasses, and apron for seven different productions (approximately over 500 performances) of the original CBL, four productions of CBL 2: A Second Helping, National Tours as well  regional productions of CBL 4:  A Mighty Fortress is Our Basement and CBL 5: The Last (Potluck) Supper and three National Tours of Away in a Basement: A CBL Christmas.  Thanks to Mr. Curt Wollan and the whole CBL team for the job security!

Meanwhile, the seveth chapter of CBL, You Smell Barn,  will premiere during the fall of 2018 in Minneapolis and Nikki hopes to be adding that fun-filled sequel to the her resume in the not so distant future.  Stay tuned!
